Pay: CA$30.00 – CA$38.00 per hour
Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Fit and assemble components using tack welding, clamping, and measuring tools
- Perform welding (primarily MIG and Stick, TIG an asset) in accordance with CWB standards
- Operate fabricating machines such as brakes, shears, and saws as required
- Maintain quality control throughout the fitting and welding process
- Inspect finished welds for structural soundness and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
- CWB Welder Certification (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW) – valid or able to be recertified
- Minimum 2–5 years of welding/fitting experience in a fabrication environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Proficient in layout, measuring, and fitting techniques
- Knowledge of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and quality
- Safety-conscious and familiar with OHSA standards
Assets (Not Required but Preferred):
- Red Seal or equivalent trade certification
- TIG welding experience
- Experience with custom fabrication or structural steel projects
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices

Demonstrated proficiency in verbal English for the purpose of communicating effectively with team members and supervisors. This is a safety requirement given the need to rapidly understand and follow all safety protocols, warnings, and emergency procedures, as well as the ability to clearly comprehend and relay specific work instructions and tasks to prevent errors and hazards in a shop environment where miscommunication could lead to injury or operational failure.

- Secondary School (required)
Experience:
- welding/fitting in paid employment : 2 years (required)
- adherence to CSA W47.1/W59 (or equivalent code): 2 years (required)
- overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools: 2 years (required)
- Blueprint reading: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Ontario Driver’s Licence (required)
- OSSD or equivalent (required)
- CWB (required)
